1. Overview
Issue Autopilot for Jira ("the App", "we", "our") is a Jira Cloud app built on the Atlassian Forge platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is stored, and how it is used. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect and Store
The App stores the following data, scoped entirely to your Jira Cloud site:
- Template configurations — the settings you define for each recurring issue template, including project key, issue type, summary, description, priority, labels, components, schedule, assignee preferences, and custom field values.
- Run history — a log of up to 200 recent issue creation events, including the template name, timestamp, outcome (created, skipped, or failed), and the Jira issue key created (if applicable).
- Error records — details of any failed scheduled runs, including the template name, error message, and timestamp. These are retained until you dismiss them in the App.
- User account IDs — Atlassian account IDs of users assigned to templates (single assignee or round-robin pool). Display names are fetched from Jira at the time the template is opened for editing and are not stored permanently.
3. How Data Is Stored
All data is stored exclusively in Atlassian Forge Storage (KV Store), which is a secure, Atlassian-managed data store scoped to your Jira Cloud site. We do not operate any external servers or databases. No data is transmitted to third-party services outside of the Atlassian platform.
Atlassian's data residency and security policies apply to all data stored in Forge Storage. For details, refer to Atlassian's Privacy Policy .
4. How Data Is Used
Data collected by the App is used solely to:
- Create Jira issues according to your configured templates and schedules
- Display template configurations and run history within the App
- Rotate assignees in round-robin mode
- Prevent duplicate issues when the duplicate prevention option is enabled
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the App's core functionality.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Data is not transmitted outside of the Atlassian Forge platform. The App interacts with the Jira Cloud REST API solely to create and query issues within your own Jira site.
6. Data Retention
- Template configurations are retained until you delete the template within the App or uninstall the App from your Jira site.
- Run history is capped at 200 entries. Older entries are automatically removed as new ones are added. You can clear all history at any time from within the App.
- Error records are retained until dismissed within the App.
- Upon uninstalling the App, all data stored in Forge Storage is deleted in accordance with Atlassian's data lifecycle policies.
7. User Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data
- Portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data

8. Security
All data is stored within Atlassian's Forge infrastructure, which is subject to Atlassian's enterprise-grade security controls. The App does not transmit data over any channel outside of the Atlassian platform. We do not store passwords, payment information, or sensitive personal information.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for use in professional workplace environments and is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
